St John Day

Today, on 29th June, we celebrate St John Day, leading the school in a parade, dressed smartly in our full-uniform.

The St John day parade is really not about comparing ourselves with other CCAs, or even with other Corps. It is a celebration of our past, a demonstration of our strength, and a shout-out to the others that we are a force to be reckoned with.

Regardless of what others may say, know that no one can destroy this spirit, that we are more than just another CCA group who goes through the motion, a CCA group that trains for the sake of training.

We place emphasis on drill sessions, for discipline is an integral part in creating an efficient unit. As First Aiders, we cannot afford to have any missteps, and thus discipline is important in ensuring that everyone is able to respond in a similar manner. We go through rigorous First Aid trainings, for that is what SJAB is all about - applying First Aid skills, for the Service of Mankind.

Yet RVSJAB is more than just First Aid and Drill sessions.

We may not have any exceptional talents within our ranks, and we may not have the best First Aiders in the whole nation, or perform the best drill.

What we have though, is passion and dedication, and this gives rise to the RVSJAB spirit that no one else can match.
